Just reviewing Bush's day on 911 |
|
1. Why was he reading books to schoolchildren? It's nice, but isn't the job of President too important to allow time for that? Bush is always managing his image, not actually doing a job.
2. Why was his assistant telling him "America is under attack?" That brings up images of say the Soviet air force bombing New York, or the Canadian army marching across the border. It's like they knew to frame it this way right off the bat - the natural thing to say to Bush would have been, there is news of a possible terrorist attack.
3. Why did he not go right to the "controls?" It is unbelievable he can be painted as a hero. No matter what the danger to his personal safety, the heroic leader goes to the scene and takes over. He should have gone right to the White House or the Pentagon. Wouldn't that be the normal thing for the "leader" to do?
4. Or, why didn't he go straight to New York? Again, the normal thing for a leader to do in spite of the danger to himself.
How does this a-hole get to come across as a strong leader? During the great enormous crisis that 911 is constantly touted to be, he does not appear to have been in charge.

3. They do, and even with that, it is so amazing that the sheeple |
|
do not look at what is obviously staring them in the face, so long as the M$M tells them something different.

2. You mean "bunnypants" didn't do what most Leaders would do? |
|
One reason they idolize Rudy so much is he showed up (Bush* didn't) along with Hillary and Schumar. The two Senators were there for the duration but never get a mention. Bill Clinton was in Australia when the attack happened and all air traffic was grounded and yet he still managed to get to New York City before Bush*.

4. Exactly, it was the images of Guiliani walking through the street |
|
with a wet cloth over his mouth that prompted me to think more about Bush. It was like it was local. Fine, but then Bush and his administration made it a "attack on America" and his toadies the M$M were going right along.

5. Instead of walking the streets doing photo ops |
|
Rudy and Kerik should have been at Command & Control, which they kept moving around that day, running the show. A lot of rescuers died that day because those two were too busy and not where they were supposed to be.

6. That could be, too, it just brought out for me how * was just being |
|
shuttled around being "protected."
Also read something about Rummy out helping the victims. There are ER people for that, wasn't Rummy too big and didn't he need to be in the situation room? They tend to their IMAGE first.
IA, Rudy needed to be where you said, and if the attack was on "America" as a whole, then Chimpy needed to be at some type of command and control center, taking charge. Even taking charge of his image was incompetently done. How he gets away with being considered the heroic take-charge leader is beyond me and increases my contempt for the sheeple immeasurably. Even back then, they should have seen it. And they had three years to recover before they elected him in 2004.

8. "That's some bad pilot". |

After putting down "My Pet Goat", this is one of the first statements that he made publicly.
For me, it epitomizes his selfish lack of empathy. Instead of being horrified at the (obvious) loss of life, he tosses off a half-joke -- completely ignoring the suffering of people in the WTC.

13. One even wonders if the M$M even is successful in portraying |
|
him as "heroic." With the material they have, they hardly can. His numbers are down, so maybe only the freepers see heroism or leadership in him.

14. "America is under attack" has always bothered me too |
|
why not "commercial jets (or even airplanes) are flying into buildings"? How about "another plane hit the other tall WTC"? How about "terrorists are flying planes into buildings, it looks really bad"?
Why "America is under attack"?
And why did he just sit there and wait? I can see waiting for more info to come in, spending time checking with people and places, and letting your staff that was assigned to this duty do it, but "didn't want to upset the children"? "Thanks kids, I have to go" is much less upsetting than staring off into the distance, not paying attention to you. It is much less upsetting than later feeling guilty that the President couldn't Do His Job because he HAD to listen to you read.
5 yrs ago was a major failure of Mr.bush. Katrina was another. I can see how anniversaries bring up lots of strong emotions, but it seems the over riding one is getting to be anger and resentment.
