What are you planning to do tomorrow besides vote? |
|
Nobody has asked us to do some day-of campaigning. So we are going to vote between 9 and 10 a.m., then since it's predicted to be in the high 80s, I might drive my Mom over to La Jolla and walk her around in her wheelchair to look at the waves and see La Jolla Cove, where she learned to swim 80 years ago. Then we may visit one of her friends so I can see one of my favorite cats. And maybe a light supper out somewhere, then home to watch the Democratic victory on TV. What are your plans besides voting?

to divvy up lit for working the polls for a county commissioner candidate that we have been volunteering for locally.
She has a very good chance of winning!
I have taken the day off of work, so I expect to be shuttling people to the polls in the off hours, and harassing voters AT the polls during the densest voting hours...
Oh, and voting myself, early, and often!

I'm also--of all things--going to a James Blunt concert (friend has tickets). I'll be listening to the news on the drive over at 5:00, since a lot of polls will have closed by then.

I voted absentee. I imagine I'll be phone calling, door knocking, driving people to the polls, poll watching, and anything else I can pack into the day before the polls close. I ain't waitin' round for anyone to "ask" me to save my nation.

Shape another tepee pole or two. No kidding, I am selling my wares at the San Bernardino County Harvest Fair this weekend and we need the tepee to fit in with the western theme. Then I will work on shaping and modifying some manzanita branches for our display cases. Voting comes first though.

Have fun with your mother! Mine has been gone for almost 20 years now and I would love to have the opportunity to take her around tomorrow. She is with me every day in spirit, however. I know she'll be extremely happy if the Dems come through tomorrow. She was one of a handful of Democrats in Kansas and raised me extremely 'politically correctly'!

I have a wheelchair lift van (I'm in one) equipped to hold 2 chairs plus mine and will be going around picking up voters who need wheelchair transport. My big time Democrat boss ASKED me do this in exchange for my regular pay and a bonus for gas. The boss is also supplying his nephew (big strong buck) to go along and assist.

Grandson (son of same daughter) has the flu and running a high fever all day. The plan was to hold signs at polls till noon, then take daughter to lunch, then maybe go back to signs. Now will probably be relieving daughter to take care of sick kid so she can have a nap on her birthday. Then back to signs until time to feed hubby for dinner after he comes home from work. Hubby is a dem but presently completely OVER the election thing thanks to all the phone calls and tv ads. Barely has a sense of humor anymore. Mentioned that we were invited to an election party and he groaned and headed for bed. With any luck, kid will be over flu, daughter will like her birthday lunch that I pick up at Subway on my way back from the polls, hubby will like his dinner, and I will be able to get into my jammies and meet you all back here in time to celebrate a dem victory. Somewhere in there I will RSVP to the election after party and graciously cancel. Whew.
