5. They're already allowing outsourcing of repairs to Central America |
|
where the mechanics make about $2.00 an hour and would never qualify for that job in the USA. Think about that the next time you get on an airplane. Also, how many foreign-made replacement parts are being used?

15. And not under the authority of the FAA |
|
It's under the TSA, part of HSA, except for the sky-marshall bits who are DOJ.

9. IIRC, airline security was outsourced before 9-11. |
|
And Congress and the administration made it a rallying cry to form the TSA and get rid of the private contractors.

Of course since it's an article of faith among conservatives that the private sector can do everything better than the government, I'm not surprised.

domestic airlines..this is so absurd..its beyond belief...
will someone please tell me when Americans take to the streets..and haul these son of a bitches out of our White House and our government??
what is it going to take??
this is the outsourcing of our national security.,.do people get that..are people aware of these things..i don't mean DU'ers..but do the masses understand this??
Alaska Air just had an emergency because of the out sourcing of baggage handlers..they hit the side of the aircraft with equipment and caused a gash in the skin of the aircraft..that can cause a tragedy..and the outsourced baggage handlers did not understand or were too afraid to point out to the flight crew or airline the gash becuase they did not have the training of an inhouse airline employee..
it was the third such incident in a very short period of time with Alaska Air...i would say do not fly them..not at all... if you care for your life..
we need to grow up as Americans,,.
what is more important to you?? really... ask yourself that..cheaper flights or to get there alive? with competant crew and ground crew?
with mechanics who are airline trained or out sourced to god knows who? we need to decide what we want..safety or cheap??
and if its safety..make the airlines and train companies aware of it..make the DOT aware of it..
is 50 dollars cheaper worth dying for??
the total negligence of this admin in everything should have us all in the streets fighting mad..
how did Katrina happen as it did ..what if it was a bombing??
i retired from one of the airlines involved in 9/11 NY base..i was flt attendant of the year 2001 for the NY base for my airline..i took early retirement because i no longer trust my government..
do you trust it??
its a pitiful joke on all of us..but people die in these kinds of jokes!
i took retirement so i could go out and speak to americans and try to wake them up..i have done alot of speaking..but it is up to all of us..you me , all of us..we need to get in the faces of our fellow Americans, we need to shake the trees..we need to get ugly if nessesary..but damn it..we need to get down right nasty with our fellow americans and demand they get off their asses and do something..and become responsibile for the very constitution that ..is.. our nation..its all of our names on that document.."we the people" is all of us..
you want to be safe..well do something about it..after people are dead ..its too damn late! woulda , coulda , shoulda no longer works..
this administration is making our lives more and more dangerous by the day..
and its all our responsibility to do something about all of our safety...
go to your congressmans office..and your senators office..make them sick of seeing your face..let them know you are watching them.. call them..call them so much their secretary recognises your voice..
be their worst enemy or their best friend , depending on if they do their job and if they do it right...to your satisfaction..
do you want EU pilots flying your planes??
do you want EU flight attendants?
and what if you can't understand them in an emergency??
remember they are your lifeline..
but your congress people are your lifeline as well..what if Katrina happened where you live..or any other emergency or tragedy..will they do the job right?? have you demanded enough of them?
or will you wait till after something happens ..when you are at the mercy of people you have only seen on cspan or in your local paper?
most people here at Du are active, they do know their reps..but most people..they don't give a darn..its just save me when i need ya..
or it will never happen to me ..until it happens to them...lol..
when i started going out speaking i was nice..real nice..now i am ruthless because i know how serious this is..
we are in crisis mode now..
and i do get in peoples faces now..because even if it doesn't happen to me ..i will pay for it..with tears and heartache, and lost people..tax dollars..and loss of more and more of the soul of my nation..

Actually, it was privatization that did us in.
