This was an excellent segment. If any of you are familiar with
Booman at the Booman Tribune Phillip Longman is his brother. I think these two did us a service by bringing out the good things happening in medical care for veterans. The media makes it seem like there is nothing good about anything...
Here is a discussion held after the Tuesday night interview with both Dean and Longman taking part, and it was held at the
Progressive Book Club blogThis link is to the post by Longman. Here is more from him at the blog.
The VA is unfairly maligned It’s sad so few America’s know about the quality revolution at the VA. Partly it’s be because fewer and fewer Americans have any contact with military life. And partly it is become some journalists inadvertently keep giving the VA a black eye. A few years ago, for example, the Washington Post won a Pulitzer for its reporting on conditions Walter Reed Army Medical Center. It’s reporting however did not make it sufficiently clear that Walter Reed is not a VA hospital. As its name suggests, it’s an Army hospital, run by separate cabinet agency, the Department of Defense. Nonetheless, the VA took a huge public relations hit.
Dean spent some time there at the blog as well Tuesday night.
Thank you!Interesting comments.
