"I don't know how anyone of Hispanic heritage could be a Republican, OK," Reid said on Tuesday. "Do I need to say more?" And the youtube comments are really priceless...not.

-dog in the parable of Lazarus. And they were considered to be the lowest form of life. Christ wasn't one to pull his punches where economic oppression was concerned, was he? http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x8724851

I don't know how anyone who isn't a member of the most wealthy 10% of this nation could vote Republican.

6. Many aren't very informed |

And yeah, that is a condescending statement. But most of the republicans I have known have either been extremely ignorant (generally they are worse than ignorant, they are grossly misinformed but think they are informed), extremely dogmatic, bigoted against outsiders or full of bitterness. I have met very few rational, compassionate, informed republicans. Most are running strictly on base emotions and misinformation. That isn't to say democrats are perfect, but anyone who follows politics probably isn't going to be impressed by the emotional maturity or critical thinking skills of the GOP base.
Some I've met even know the GOP screws people over with their policies, they just don't think they'll ever get thrown under the bus. They seem to think only blacks, latinos, the poor, single mothers, etc. get thrown under.
I've also met ex-republicans. People who were republican until they saw what GOP policies were actually like. Usually health care is a 'come to jesus' moment for republicans that I know. They think the market is great and amazing, until they get sick.
Again, dems aren't perfect. But I have not really met any republicans who were compassionate, mature, informed and rational combined. The ones that are tend to lean libertarian, and they are getting disgusted by the contemporary GOP, so I don't know if I'd include them as Angle/Palin republicans.
