18. The litter box stops smelling after you clean it.
You could scrub Ron Paul with a wire brush and kerosene and he's still smell like poo.

9. If he wasn't incredibly full of shit...I'd say "yes."
As he is, however, very much full of shit, I'm going to have to go with "No."

Nothing Ron Paul has to offer is palatable, when taken with the entirety that is Ron Paul.

It's true. Bone up on your coping skills if you don't like this answer.

Cuz it's true.

It really, really is.

11. He is also anti-choice; he opposes government regulation
of just about everything; he wants to get rid of Social Security and Medicare and any other form of assistance to individuals; he doesn't like the 1964 Civil Rights Act because the government shouldn't tell businesses whom they should hire.

What's not to like? :puke:

21. You hit the nail on the head...
http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getpage.cgi?position=all&page=3427&dbname=2001_bound_record

Ron Paul from the congressional record in 2001....
"But today’s economy is unlike anything the world has ever known. The world economy is more integrated than
ever before. Indeed, the effort by international agencies to expand world trade has had results, some good.
Labor costs have been held in check, industrial producers have moved to less regulated low costs, low tax countries

while world mobility has aided these trends with all being helped with advances in computer technology."

Sounds to me like he's happy our jobs moved overseas and our wages have been held down.

20. Everyone wants peace, they all talk the talk.
The only anti-war President will be the one who actually ends the wars and fights for peace. Everyone else is just pandering. Obama never said he would end the wars. He specifically said he would escalate.

40. There's a you tube vid
of Obama addressing a town hall gathering prior to his election. In it he says the FIRST THING he'll do as president is end the Iraq war and bring home the troops there. Assures the audience they "can take that to the bank". No wonder we've had so many bank failures of late.

24. Even a broken clock is correct twice a day...BUT
So he hates the wars? Good! But that likely stems more from his views on anti-globalism, and isolationism, don't you think?

Good gravy! The rest of his platform is so outrageous, so OPPOSITE of the ideals most of us on THIS site hold dear, I'm not sure why he has so many fans on here...

Disregarding the many allegations of his racism from his early writings and publications and his apparent religious fervor, he still has some policy stances that immediately and utterly disqualify him as a viable candidate for progressives, liberals or Democrats to even consider:

He is so opposed to abortion for reasons of personal belief that he proposes nullifying the Supreme Court (in an effort to rid us of Roe v Wade) - The SCOTUS is one of the checks and balances of our very Constitution. He wants to change the underpinnings of our founding.

He proposes abolishing:

the minimum wage
all income tax
public education (yes, he actually says that all schooling should be "home schooling" by the child's parents

He believes that the Kyoto accords are "bad science"

He is a medical doctor, supposedly a man of science, but does not believe in evolution. He is a creationist (to what extent, unknown)

Okay whatever - there are others better able to argue about this.

I guess what many admire is that he is consistent in his principles and has some...
I am NOT one of his admirers.

16. he does not understand about preventive care.
he should not even be a doctor. His son is the same way. They don't believe in spending government money to prevent disease.

He is a liar. He said he never had a patient with a life-threatening pregnancy. That is statistically impossible. You can't tell me he never had a patient with preeclampsia, toxemia, or a tubal pregnancy. Or even a mandatory C-section. If a woman needs a C section and the baby is stuck, and she does not get a C-section, she and the baby will die. That happens often in undeveloped countries and used to happen all the time in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

BUT... why can't the Democratic party come out and publish their own opinion on wars, poverty and health care?

So far, Mr. Obama's position has been to surge, surge, surge. More War. More Poverty, more insanity.

Not Obama Bashing... but please, enlighten me as where my facts are wrong?

26. He doesn't stand a chance in hell of getting the GOP nomination.
A Repub acquaintance of mine told me that when he first heard Ron Paul, he thought Paul had some good ideas. Then, he listened more closely and realized that Ron Paul is insane. Apparently, that is a fairly common story among Republicans.

41. I agree - with provisos
I'm of no religious faith whatsoever, but popular lore has it that the last perfect person got nailed to a cross. There's been no other truly perfect sorts since. I sure wouldn't want a Paul in the oval office, but I sure WOULD like to see some electable someone embrace his notion of pulling back ALL of our military presences overseas!
