You think that maybe the judge is trying to hide something? Maybe he's toured the Penn St. showers a few times maybe?

The Second Mile cut all ties with Sandusky in 2008, when they learned that he was under investigation for child sexual abuse. If the judge started volunteering after Sandusky was out, there wouldn't seem to be any direct conflict of interest.

21. Do you think judges should avoid the appearance of conflict of interest? |
|
Because from where I'm sitting it certainly *looks* like a conflict of interest..
Perhaps that entire area is so intertwined with the tentacles of Sandusky's crimes that there is no judge there that can appear free of the connections?

26. Ties don't have to be financial; she might want to see the reputation of The Second Mile kept clean |
|
and so have an interest in having Sandusky being able to communicate freely with people from the charity to coordinate stories etc. In practice, I expect some wealthy friend would have stood bail, but, if he had been tagged, they might know what his movements were (are prosecutors allowed to record that data before a trial?)
