16. Well, I don't necessarily agree with that....
Motive is relevant to any that kind of criminal case, however, the defenses he offered and the fact that his story changed three times sounds to me like he was just someone who was self-loathing or in deep denial and/or a potential serial killer in the making.

Hard to say which at this point, but he definitely deserves his punishment since this was not a case of self-defense or anything like that.

From a rehabilition standpoint, I think that if this turns out to be a case where he killed someone to hide the fact that he was gay, it will go a long way to helping him repent for his crime and at least be able to find a modicum of peace in life.
