Yes, we are primarily Americans. But we are also proud of our families' roots. We have no desire to blend in seemlessly & be just like all other good American WASPs. Of course, my ancestors had a head start--thanks to centuries of exposure to English culture, they already spoke the language.

Look into the history of the Balkans. Different languages did not cause their problems.

Yes, we've heard ILLEGAL defined again & again. When my people (& yours) came here, the road to legal residency & citizenship was much simpler.
