The camera persons, researchers, and junior writers you referred to are not responsible for the huge ratings jump on Countdown. Nor do they make the editorial decisions (e.g., the Special Comments) that have sparked the huge ratings jump. Keith is. I don't have a problem with Keith getting paid what he's worth IN THE MARKET, and I don't question his progressive ideals or his charitable giving.

And this is not like the corporate CEO who gets zillion dollar comp packages when he/she (and given the comparatively small number of female CEO's, I use "she" rather loosely) had very little to do with the company's profits. Keith is rather DIRECTLY responsible for the ratings on Countdown.
