herbert hoover's wife ran relief from the White House for the unemployed during the start of the Great Depression. At least She did something for people in need.

I loved the ad I had to watch before reading this piece from the New Yorker -- the Rich are Behaving Badly, Again. Someone in the NYT sure has a sense of humor running this ad in front of Laura's piece.

However, I notice Laura is being used as a stage prop for the faithful. There are a number of articles about her in Family Home Journal, McCalls and the like. She is flying under the radar.
