49. The comments in this thread are illogical

First of all -- let me say I support full equal treatment of all people, including gay marriage. Let me also say I don't think Schwarzengegger was the best choice for governor.

But....

1. Can we please not call someone who disagrees with us a "Nazi"? It's as silly as the republicans calling us "commie pigs". Damn, how many times can we invoke Godwin's law in a single thread?

2. Arnold's stance on this issue is the same as most every democrat guys. I know, I know-- sad but true. A lot of democrats, especially the presidential candidates, do not share my view of fairness and equality for gays, and support civil unions instead.

However, to rip on Arnold for supporting civil unions and attacking him, while not the democratic candidates, is illogical and even hypocritical.

If the major democratic candidates don't support gay marriage, why would you expect a Republican governor to?

Let's settle the "problems at home" here before taking the fight for equality to the other party. How can we expect a republican to support something when most democrats don't?
