PM Gillard talks free trade in north Asia

The Prime Minister is selling the benefits of free trade during her tour through North Asia.

Economic ties will continue to dominate much of her discussions with Japan, South Korea and China, with Australia currenting negotiating free trade agreements with all three nations.

At an address to the Japan National Press Club, Julia Gillard said the two countries must remain committeed to the principals of free trade, and said Japanese Prime Minister Kan and herself had renewed their commitment to concluding an Agreement.

At the Korean International Trade Association Dinner, Ms Gillard said she was confident a trade deal could be struck with South Korea.
