27. No, Faber wouldn't accept me
Edited on Thu Nov-24-11 03:45 AM by Alamuti Lotus
A tragedy, to be sure, but one I have moved beyond after hours and hours of painful--yet fruitful--therapy. I have accepted that "knowledge is good", but it is still a difficult subject and I would appreciate you not to open such wounds so casually.

To reply point-by-side-stepped-point:

The description Middle has also led to some confusion over changing definitions. Before the First World War, "Near East" was used in English to refer to the Balkans and the Ottoman Empire, while "Middle East" referred to Iran, Afghanistan, and Central Asia, and the Caucasus. In contrast, "Far East" referred to the countries of East Asia (e.g. China, Japan, Formosa, Korea, Hong Kong, etc.) Some critics usually advise using an alternative term, such as "Western Asia", which is the official designation used by the UN.

Somalia is officially a member of the Arab League; it's affairs are closely linked to events in the region; it fit within the paradigm of the point I was making.

Were that I was not so consumed by apathy I might have endeavored to previously explain that I consider Israeli & Saudi affairs to be in practice virtually a direct extension of US policy -- but, alas, the nice part about apathy is the not-caring.

The ironic part is that in the whole condensed spiels above, I neglected to mention altogether the glorious present and past of US meddling in Syria & Lebanon--the original subject of this thread and places I have been to recently, no less. I really have little excuse for such an obvious lapse of mind.. but once again, I must defer to saying that sometimes the nice part is the not-caring and that addition will just have to wait for another time.
