Our military commanders will take whatever action is necessary to secure Falluja on behalf of the Iraqi people," Bush said during a meeting with Swedish Prime Minister Goran Persson.
"We will deal with those who want to stop the march to freedom, and that's exactly what's happening in Falluja," he added.
Despite the surge in violence, Bush said he assured the prime minister that the United States would transfer sovereignty to Iraqis on June 30, calling it a "solid date."
"We will have a successful transfer of power," Bush said.
