35. Actually this is the compromise more intelligent theologians make
Every tho. that I have talked to who is intelligent, has accepted this compromise, if not flat out said, it's just a story. An Analog to explain simply the creation of the world. I would also point out that there are TWO creation myths. The hand prints of man are all over this piece of literature.

I took a creation myth course in college, and my final was a thesis based on a psychological profile of 'god' and Marduk (from the Enuma elish which pre-dates 'the bible' by at least 1000 years). Basically stating that they are the same god. My theory is that the jews are a branch/offshoot of a much more violent religion, and they tried to reform their view of their god to make it more palatable to others. I got an A- because my thoughts were not complete enough. My instructor left me a note saying there is much evidence to prove this if I should search it out.
