9. What's so sad?
What's the alternative to support for Israel? Throw Israel under the bus?

I heard his speech, and it revelatory of a nuanced understanding of the politics of Israel and the rest of the region, a refreshing change from the past eight years.

Being an agent of change doesn't mean we have to radically alter every single policy this country has had, or swap our friends for our enemies and vice versa. At this point, actual competence would be a radical change. If some people fail to see that Obama would be a major change in the region because they choose to interpret his support for Israel as "pandering," then that's what I find sad.
