16. the winger in my office actually
had the decency to get embarrassed and try to backpedal after issuing this telling statement:

"What I don't want to see happen is that a Democratic president starts giving away my tax dollars to social programs. I mean, I don't get why people think that in the case of health care and education everything should be equal."

this is a guy who is a doctor's son and attended private school. he thinks that everyone who had advantages in life earned them. what a putz. he lost what last bit of respect i ever for him with that one.

oh, how he backpedaled was, after i called him on that, he said well yes, public education needs to be kept solvent (i doubt he really believes that) and then he said that universal health care might mean that the gov starts paying out to support the special interest insurance industry, when first changes need to be made in the whole system. that much i agreed with.
