I think if you receive a written or verbal order from a higher command and you disobey it that is just as it seems, 'failure to obey a direct and lawful order'. So that is one thing. There are other things that a Pilot must do though, such as obey directives and procedures, which I don't think are considered Orders. So if you don't do what they tell to, which is your duty, then you are guilty of deriliction of your dutys.

Anyway I think that's it, but I'm certainly not a lawyer.
