Shut down commerce then there goes the tax money. No, shutting down the net is not a viable tactic for Bu$h. Of course, they could shut-down certain 'pinko' sites. But this would not stop internet communication, it would just go to off-shore ISP sites. You can bet the geeks would have something to say about trying to cheney the 'net.

I doubt Cheney/Bu$h, Neocons or the PNAC groups would survive the backlash from martial law. Nor would the mercs.

I have doubts that local/state police would honor the declaration of martial law. Probably not even the normal military.
