9. Presumably if there is a problem, You Wil Know When You Apply....
...for the absentee ballot and they reject the application. Do it
as far in advance as possible so you have time to fight them if
necessary.

Register as independent, and maybe they may be less likely to reject
your application or "lose" your ballot when it arrives in the mail.
(You may want to change registration after the election if that is
required to vote in subsequent Democratic primaries though).

Everyone who votes absentee should check after the election to make
sure they are marked down as having voted.

Certified mail might be a good idea too. Then someone has to sign
for your ballot, so if they "lose" it you have evidence.
