7. Oppose RW or Die
We are losing because our democrat leaders are afraid to oppose them. Consequently, the American electorate sees the RW as strong and the Dems as weak. Whether we like it or not, the appearance of strength influences people.
The Dems need to scream bloody murder from the floor and stop worrying about GOP retribution. They need to warn the American people about the GOP agenda...what it means to their future...their jobs...their families. They need to seize every opportunity to get the word to the media and be so outrageous in their viciousness that the media will air it for the entertainment content if nothing else. THEN......when the GOP passes a bill that directly impacts Americans they will rememeber who warned them. The Dems will be known as the champions of the middle class. They need to ask for everything they want and speak out against the GOP as if the RW intended on roasting the middle class alive. They need simple one line spins that people can remember when they discuss politics at the coffee pot. No lengthy fact filled explanations will work. If they don't do this right now by 2008 we will be choosing between conservative or centrist republicans. That is what the GOP is aiming for. They want to become the choices and they will do it if the Dems don't fight for their lives right now. If the Dems did this, we wouldn't have to worry about who we were going to run in 2008 because they would reveal themselves in the process. It would be apparent.
