one, the documentary "Tibet, Cry of the Snow Lion" and two (a very old movie) "Romero", the story of Archbishop Oscar Romero, the El Salvador bishop assassinated by death squads (who were trained in the US probably) and the torture and murder of Salvadorans. One thing struck me. In both of these instances you have some of the most truly godawful human rights abuses the human race has suffered in the last 50 years. And in both cases the victims practiced forgiving their abusers.

For me however, when I get around freeper types, all I can think is that these people are the backbone of the atrocities committed around the world and funded or aided by the US. I want to lash out and strangle the bastards. Then I think of the Buddhists in Tibet, and the Catholics in El Salvador, and King and Ghandi, and I try to raise myself above those hateful emotions, because it really isnt the way.

Then a few minutes later the good thoughts pass and Im back to hating again. Sigh.
