Judith Miller is not a journalist. She's a Pentagon shill. She is not protecting a whistleblower. She's protecting Dick Cheney, Scooter Libby and/or Karl Rove--and a criminal enterprise the likes of which we have never seen in the U.S. government.

Some people call Iraq "Judith Miller's war," and that is not far from the truth. No one is more responsible for pushing Bush Cartel lies about Iraq WMDs than she and the editors who published her on the front pages of the rag she writes for. They legitimized those lies for all other news organizations, and destroyed the NYT's reputation forever. Over 100,000 innocent people died as a result. The magnitude of this journalistic crime is staggering.

There have been other journalistic crimes in support of this fascist regime. One of the worst was committed by the TV networks who, acting in concert, ALTERED the exit poll data on everybody's TV screens late on election day, Nov. 2, 2004, "adjusting" the exit poll data (Kerry won) to fit the official result (Bush won), thus depriving the American people of major evidence of election fraud, and dampening protest and demands for investigation.

Just went and changed it. CHANGED the exit polls. PUT FALSE NUMBERS ON EVERYBODY'S TV SCREENS!

The combined impact of these two journalistic crimes--the NYT's lies about Iraq WMDs, and the TV networks' falsification of the exit poll data--was to install an illegitimate government to conduct a heinous and completely unjustified war in clear defiance of the will of the American people, nearly 60% of whom have opposed this war since BEFORE the invasion of Iraq. (I will never forget that stat! February 2003, in all polls: 58% opposed the war, with about half opposing it outright, and the other half opposing anything but a U.N. peacekeeping action--no unilateral US war.)

The U.S. news monopolies, with Judith Miller and the NYT leading the pack, have destroyed our democracy just as surely as the Bush Cartel and their brethren at Diebold and ES&S have done. They have acted as the cheerleaders and propagandists for this fascist coup. They have no credibility left. None.

So it is VERY, VERY DIFFICULT to know what is really going on right now. We can presume, because the news monopolies have framed the Judith Miller jailing as a government assault on the "free press" that the opposite is true. Nothing could be better for freedom of the press than the jailing of Judith Miller.

That's what we have to do now: We have to presume that, whatever the news monopolies are telling us, the opposite is probably true--or, at the least, is a highly twisted version of reality, if not a delusion.

We have to question EVERY WORD they say. Is Bush the "president"? No. He and his Cartel have no legitimacy. Their "election" was completely non-transparent and unverifiable, and the inferential evidence strongly points to a big Bush loss. Is the U.S. at war in Iraq? No! The Bush Cartel--usurpers of U.S. authority--is USING the U.S. military for its own ends, and is massively looting both countries. Is Judith Miller a journalistic martyr, suffering for the sins of her government? No. Judith Miller is an agent of the Bush Cartel--if not of a foreign country (Israel)--and has used her position as a journalist to START A WAR, and is now using her privileges as a journalist to protect mass murderers.

Question every word. Assume the opposite. And you will be close to the truth.

Is Bush fighting terrorism? No. Bush is PROMOTING terrorism, and CREATING terrorism, and INFLICTING terrorism--to the enormous profit of his arms dealing vice president, and the Saudi oil princes who have been funding Bush from the beginning.

Is Bush patriotic? No. Bush is a basket case, and a nut, and a puppet, whose programmed lines and managed appearances are a farce. There is no there there. He doesn't have enough substance to be patriotic, or loyal to anything but his own meal ticket, and literally cannot hold a thought in his head more complicated than two or three-word sentences ("Bring 'em on!" "Mission accomplished."). The promotion, creation and infliction of terrorism is the work of OTHERS who keep him away from the details, shield him with deniability, and use him as the front man.

So, when the news monopolies refer to this empty suit, this soulless little punk, as "the President," they are lying, and they know it.

The answer to the stink in Washington DC is restoring our right to vote, by throwing Bushite electronic voting machine companies--Diebold, ES&S and brethren--out of the election business NOW--or, at the least, achieving some measure of election transparency with paper ballot backups, strict auditing, and no secret, proprietary programming code owned and controlled by major Bush donors and campaign chairs! The only place where we can get this done is in state/local jurisdictions, where the authority over election systems still resides, and where ordinary people still have some say. The bipartisan corruption in the electronic voting business at the state/local level is daunting, but it is nothing compared to the bipartisan corruption in Washington DC on this and all major issues, and it is fixable and local.
