There was an award winning Reuters journalist named Mazen Dana who was shot dead by an American tank outside Abu Graib prison. His brother said they killed him because he had filmed mass graves of American soldiers hidden in the desert.

Here's a link to some pictures claimed to be of 16 American soldiers buried in mass graves

(Notice the White Caucasian corpse, military hair cut, common American tattoo on arm, German beer)

You may ask, how can the US government hide US troop fatalities. The families would know, and the media would eat it up. But these soldiers may not even be native born Americans. If this story is true, that the US hides it's troop corpses, they are probably the remains of what have been called "green card soldiers". Soldiers from foreign countries that fight in the US military in return for a green card. Unfortunately for them, rumour is they are used like cannon fodder and take much higher casaulties than their fellow soldiers born in the US... and they are never reported.

ps. I've heard before that a lot of soldiers die from combat wounds, but because they are technically outside Iraq when it happens, they aren't counted among the +1,700 that die on the spot.
