5. My Web site

You can probably find it on my web site oreilly-sucks.com. I have a lot of the Sheehan story in my forums.

He did deny he called her treasonous, but that is one of his old tricks.

O'Reilly did call her treasonous, but he did it in a way so he could deny it, he is an expert at that because he has done it so many times. He quoted an un-named family who he said feels what she is doing is treasonous. Who is this family, name them, he cant, because they dont exist. He just made it up so he could imply a family said it, it's the oldest trick in the FOX book. Just watch the movie outfoxed and you will see what I mean. They cite an anonymous source to smear someone or lie about them. Some people say.........got it ?

Quote from O'Reilly:

Two days ago, reporter Anne Kornblut wrote in The New York Times, "The FOX News television host Bill O'Reilly has called Cindy Sheehan treasonous." Of course, that's false. And Moday, The New York Times issued a correction admitting I did not put that label on Ms. Sheehan. We have posted the correction on www.billoreilly.com.

Now we asked Ms. Kornblut how an error like that could happen. She said it was a simple mistake, we all make them. But she could not pinpoint where she got the erroneous information.

Now I suspect Ms. Kornblut was duped by a far left Web site. These operations have been viciously attacking me in "The Factor" ever since we let you know that Ms. Sheehan had partnered up with the far left, apparently those people did not like that exposition. And remember, most media didn't mention Ms. Sheehan is writing a column for Michael Moore. Quite an omission in my view.

As usual, "The Factor's" reporting on the Sheehan situation has been honest and accurate. The question is, why do some media continue to mislead the public? Just tell the truth. It's not that hard. And if you don't tell the truth, you're going to lose.

And the newshounds do a lot on O'Reilly too.

Here are a few more of his denials:

From the August 10 edition of The O'Reilly Factor:

Heather O'Neill, New York City: "I see the right-wing smear tactics have begun against Cindy Sheehan."

O'REILLY: Well, I don't know where you're seeing that. Not here, Ms. O'Neill. We've reported the story accurately and fairly.

Al Nagengast, Payson, Arizona: "O'Reilly, the savaging of Mrs. Sheehan by you and Michelle Malkin is a new low for The Factor."

O'REILLY: Both Michelle and I were respectful to Mrs. Sheehan, sir. You are distorting and perhaps lying about the segment.

O'Reilly has treated this story neither accurately nor fairly. As Media Matters for America documented, he repeated the false claim that Sheehan, a critic of President Bush and the Iraq war, has changed what she has said about Bush and the war since meeting with him in June 2004.

As for O'Reilly's claim that he and Malkin were "respectful" to Sheehan, the transcript of the August 9 edition of The O'Reilly Factor shows otherwise:

O'REILLY: Well, I have to say that she obviously does because she's the lead story on Michael Moore's Web site on an almost daily basis. And she knows -- I mean, Michael Moore isn't a subtle guy. Everybody knows where he stands.

So I mean, I think Mrs. Sheehan bears some responsibility for this and also for the responsibility of other American families who have lost sons and daughters in Iraq, who feel that this kind of behavior borders on treasonous.
