I am willing to bet the deed to my home that this "rebuilt" New Orleans will be declared a complete loss and the previous landowners will be bought out for pennies on the dollar. The land will then be turned over (at a huge profit) to real-estate speculators who will repair all the levees and construct deluxe estates just oozing with ante-bellum charm and all the latest luxuries -- air conditioning, three car garages, broad boulovards lined with magnolia trees and, of course, high gates around the neighborhoods -- and sold for millions.

The poor and non-white? Eh, who cares? A newly created division of Halliburton will be doing all the work, and that's all that matters.
