6. Any DUers who feeling depressed about progressive
causes must see this film. I'm assuming that's all of us. It's like a fairy tale because the good guys win! The progressives defeat the evil ones.

The movie is amazing on many levels. I don't know how the filmmakers got access for this coverage but the whole military coup and defeat is on film. One of the themes of the movie is how the private media lies and distorts the truth and that allows the rich elite to gain power. Another major theme is that the people can stand up to power and win. The average Venezuelan, not the rich elite, marched and risked their lives to support their President and democracy. By word of mouth, not the media, the people learned that it was a media coup and they risked their lives and marched in support of the elected President. Many interviewed spoke about their Constitution and the importance of supporting Democracy. One million folks stood up for the elected President. Then the rank and file military stood up the generals and supported the President.

If you want to feel hopeful, then go see this film.
