6. Frum was useless
His argument was "every one of the other guy's facts are wrong" (but no reasons to back this up), and "the BBC is biased". His reasoning for this was that "all 3 people interviewed outside Buckingham Palace were anti-Bush", although the question asked was actually whether they approved of the visit. One actually said "it's good Bush is here, because he won't hear the demonstrators from 6000 miles away"; one said "no, he's disrupting everything", and one (American) said "he's thrown away all the goodwill the USA used to have".

Frum totally ignored the section where they interviewed 3 people in a pub - 2 supported Bush's policies, and 1 was very much against Bush. So the BBC was actually pretty balanced. I think it was the inability of Frum to see this that made Paxman stop bothering with him - he had 2 other people from whom he could get proper answers.

So rather than make any sort of reasoned defence of the Bush visit, Frum pissed away his chance. No wonder Frum was described as a former Bush speechwriter - even Dubya would fire an incompetent jerk like that.
