"Who do we bring in for equal time?"

Natalie said (very graciously and laughing): "What to even it out? Come on, you have the O'Reilly Factor. That's on television. That evens it out." and handed the plant back to Diane.

Then Diane asks if she went up to Boston, and she said she had been to the opening party, and that she just loves John Kerry and thinks he has just "the perfect combination of compassion and intelligence and composure under pressure"... etc.

Diane said (admittedly laughing and trying to keep it light) "You're gonna make your speech, aren't you?" But she asked for it.

Natalie handled it very well, and not to defend Sawyer, but I think she was just paranoid about getting accused of not providing equal time. Her bosses were likely telling her to do it. I'm sure they'd have done the same thing if someone was wearing a Bush-Cheney shirt.

But COME ON people! It's a t-shirt on a guest. That doesn't violate equal time rules!!
