19. It is so hard to hold back
I didn't know about DU or the freepers until I started obsessing on the election and I was terrified about posting here for the longest time- for fear that someone would think since I'm new I'm a spy or something, which I assure you I'm not. I'm a life-long Greenwich Village lib from way back. But I get a sort of sadistic pleasure lurking around the free republic pages which I discovered much later (like last week) and am soooo tempted to jump in there. Do I dare? Do I dare to eat a freep? There was a particular "conversation" they were having in defense of Halliburton, something about baiting and ridiculing a liberal in a mostly right wing gym locker room because he criticised Halliburton's no-bid contract without knowing all the facts about the company. And the thread turned into this huge hateful Halliburton love-fest/ dem hate fest, calling us uninformed psychos, etc... If you'll recall the study which came out last week about cognitive dissonance, however, I think we know who does not live in the land of reality.

Kudos to you!
