"Racism" is when one race as a group holds more power and priviledge than another race as a group. One particular instance of a member of a group that does not hold power and priviledge discriminating against one particular member of a group that does hold power and priviledge doesn't equal "racism." Discrimination is wrong but it isn't synonymous with racism.

And that situation would not have the same impact as if the races were reversed. Even with affirmative action, it's still easier for a white person to find a job. If the person had been black and had been fired, he/she would have a very hard time every finding another decent job. If a white person is fired there's still a good chance of someone thinking it's a one-time issue and giving him/her a second chance. That's a good example of how a societal issue like racism makes two discrimination cases different.
