I can't believe that the Lounge has somehow missed the Major Crapper story

Apparently, when Charles and Camilla had to postpone their wedding a day due to the Pope's funeral, the new date and time conflicted with the wedding of a Major Thomas Crapper (apparently a descendant of the famous inventor, but that isn't confirmed in the linked story). Now I care not a whit about royal weddings, but I think from now on whenever I need to put my name on the list for a table at a restaurant, I'm going to give it as "Major Crapper, party of two." Do you think he ever thought twice about taking the promotion to Major? Do you think he'll ever make General?

The story also mentions a former Buckingham Palace spokesman named Dickie Arbiter, which also a) sounds made up and b) is too good for words. I wonder if he also covered cummerbunds.

More here, though Arbiter and Crapper are really only mentioned in passing:

Edit: A glance at the story indicates that the times don't actually conflict; the royal wedding is in the morning while the Crappers' is in the afternoon. Still...
