Woman Sues Stephen King Over 'Misery' Character
Advertisements [?]
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - A woman who has hounded horror master Stephen King in the past is causing him more "Misery."

Anne Hiltner has sued the best-selling author, claiming that the sadistic female lead from the novel "Misery" is a caricature based on herself, reports Celebrity Justice.

"Misery" features nurse Annie Wilkes, who is the self-proclaimed No. 1 fan of author Paul Sheldon. She holds him captive, forcing him to write a romantic novel just for her. The 1990 film based on the novel won Kathy Bates an Oscar for her portrayal of Annie and provided one of cinema's most alarming scenes in which she "hobbles" Sheldon (James Caan).
