I took 35 pills a day at one time on top of several monthly IV medications and 2 injections.
At one time I wanted to change to a different asthma medication, my doc was involved in a research study--he said I was too sick to take off of my current medication.
I had SUPERB insurance.
My docs loved it.
Anyway, long story short...insurance changed, got wayyyyy to expensive to maintain the doctor-patient relationships, so I decided to cut out some of my meds. I did it slowly to make sure I didn't get ill. Finally phased every bit of it out a year or more ago.
I took 2 Tylenol last month--that was my last medicine.
Funny thing was after I quit taking the medicine, I didn't feel any better or any worse than I did taking it, however, had alot more money. I even quit my asthma medication (I certainly don't recommend this for everyone--just worked for me).
I did take CoQ-10 to boost my immune system, Glucosamine Chondroiten for my joints, Vitamin E, Calcium, Aloe Vera, DHEA, Slow Mag and papaya enzyme when I was stopping the prescription drugs.
I was then phased it all out.
I found that spending hundreds of dollars a month on doctors and medicines, I got sick 3-4 times a year.
I found that spending nothing on doctors and medicines, I still got sick 3-4 times a year.
I guess it is all relative. I don't regret my decisions at all.
