You know, I remember the cross/blood stuff as feeling "false".

Even as a little kid, what I thought was important was the message of love and peace. That giving up your life for me/washed in the blood stuff - really strange.

But try telling Southern Baptists that and they'll turn on the hellfire and guilt machine to the max.

And I used to wonder why I despise the fundies so - your post made me realize just how bizarre that stuff really is.

Frankly, I don't see the point of the blood - and think it only serves to control and re-inforce guilt.

So over all that now, am I.
