I think EQ had just such a rich environment and so much versatility, and that's what made it interesting. The problem with all the spin-offs/competitors is that they hold your hand too much and the worlds are less interactive.

I used to love sitting in High Pass and just fish in the deep pools for hours. I guess that's kinda pathetic, but somehow that's one of the good memories.

I wish it had developed into more of a roleplaying game rather than just a powerlevel extravaganza, but I guess it was not to be.
