A distinguished adjunct professor of law with George Mason since 1988, Judge Ginsburg has also served on the law faculties of the University of Chicago, Harvard University, and Columbia University. Before his appointment to the bench in 1986 by President Reagan, Judge Ginsburg was assistant attorney general in charge of the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice; administrator for information and regulatory affairs in the Office of Management and Budget; and deputy assistant attorney general for regulatory affairs in the Justice Department. He clerked for Justice Thurgood Marshall of the U.S. Supreme Court and for Judge Carl McGowan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
