30. Why do I view it as barren and desolate or why do they fight over it?
I view it as such because I've been there.

Beautiful archetecture, shrines and a sense of age and mystery. But that's all pretty much contained to a very small area. As much as I know this will infuriate some people, those areas should not belong to ANYBODY, except maybe a perservation organization or a joint-stewardship trustee authorized to maintain it and arrange to keep it safe and clean, like the Park Service in the US. Certainly no nation has a right to it.

Most of the developed areas of the country look like New Jersey (ugly and overdeveloped) and most (probably close to 96%) of the land is barren wasteland. It's not a pretty country.

They fight over it because it's there and they all think its theirs, I guess. Personally, If I was a resident (either side), I'd take a nice payoff to leave, using the money to live someplace that isn't geographically-unpleasant...like Italy or Greece or France.
