42. I'm really not surprised about them keeping the younger person
whom I am sure they are paying less. I had a job, while I was NOT laid off, the company seemed to like to push around the senior people in such a way that they became miserable enough to quit and then replace them with people who make half of what the senior people did. They also avoided paying unemployment/severance that way....:grr:

Seemonkee is right about jobs in the DC area. Not only is this area mostly recession proof but the salaries are much higher here...My younger sister is a bookkeeper here and makes a pretty decent salary.
