and REM were the leaders and most energetic banner wavers in the move from real alternative done with integrity and artistic honesty to the corporate world of demographically driven "alternative" compositional styles designed to move as much REM-product as possible.

Michael Stipe should spend the rest of his life covered in filth, hauling garbage in Biloxi.
