90. U2 at the United Center in Chicago
Part of it was the circumstances. It was in November, just after 9/11.

I had my dream job, head writer for Second City Communications. That's the "custom comedy" wing of Chicago's Second City. After 9/11, business dropped off and they decided to dissolve the full time writing staff.

After they told us my wife had, between the time I told her and the time I got home, purchased tickets for the show the following night. Not just tickets. The best tickets I've ever had for a stadium show. We were about fifty feet from the ramp that went out into the audience.

The show was like going to church. I left with all of my defeat wiped away, replaced by optimism. I can't really explain it, but I go back to that night quite a bit.
