and making the election about something big, like the place of the U.S. in the world, etc. This was a lengthy piece, and, of course, I couldn't excerpt it all, but I agree: I think they're on the same page in many respects.

I posted the part about Obama's never having run against the GOP not as a slam at him, but because I'd never thought of that. That is a very big challenge for anybody -- to run against the GOP for the first time in a Presidential race.
