The problem is there is not SS money stashed away in a trust fund. The Republicans have been spending it but in all fairness Democrats have done the same when we were in power.

The surplus needs to be saved and not spent on other non SS programs. A very important first step in making SS solvent for future generations.

I'm worried that when my grandchildren retire the pot will be empty and the ratio of workers to recipients will not provide funds for even a modest SS program.
