More than 325,000 voters have cast ballots already in Colorado.

In the first week of early voting, more than 135,000 people went to polling stations statewide. In addition, nearly 190,000 absentee ballots were returned, according to county totals provided to the Colorado secretary of state.

Meanwhile, some absentee voters from Denver are still waiting for missing ballots - and fearing they will lose their right to vote. The frustrated voters include a former City Council member whose daughter in Pennsylvania is trying to vote absentee in Denver.

Early turnout has been particularly heavy in some Denver metro counties.

Nearly one-third of 153,000 registered voters in Douglas County had voted by the end of last week. Jefferson County reported about one-sixth of its registered voters, more than 60,000 people, had cast early votes or returned absentee ballots as of 3 p.m. Monday.
