3. As solicitor general
was he operating according to his own opinions, or those of the administration for whom he was working? I don't know, I'm asking. How much does one's own judgement feed into such a position?

And, was he siding with Operation Rescue, or just saying that the case wouldn't work civilly. You don't have to be for or against something to say they don't have a case. And making a civil case based on discrimiation against women sounds like it might have been to far a stretch to prosecute these guys. You can't always get a perp on the charge you want. Don't forget they got Capone on tax evasion, though he'd done much worse.

Dunno. Just trying to think like a lawyer.
