McCullough: Jimmy Carter on the Wide Path to Hell

NEW YORK, Jan. 6 /Christian Wire Service/ -- Syndicated Columnist for World Net Daily Kevin McCullough, heard daily on WMCA 570/970 in New York City, has accepted the challenge set forward by former President Jimmy Carter to debate the issues of Christianity and Fundamentalism.

"Former President Carter asserts that no one among fundamentalist evangelical America is willing to have a robust debate on the issues he raises in his interview. In that interview his own beliefs are filled with flaws in logic. I am aggressively seeking to challenge his assertion that we evangelicals are afraid to have our beliefs challenged. I've said so in my column today, and will say so on-air. We will be fair, but we dispute his characterization that we are afraid to be challenged."

Furthermore McCullough advanced the discussion by making the claim that Carter's actual beliefs as articulated in his current interview in GQ magazine actually send potential believers to eternal damnation.

"Former President Jimmy Carter's recent interview with GQ magazine left the impression that Mr. Carter had given the authoritative word on what Christianity should look like in America today. He couldn't have been more wrong - or absurd. Mr. Carter is an angry old man and - who if he takes his own advice on how to interpret the Bible or the basic understanding of Christianity - is himself on the wide road to Hell!"
