Edwards is no Kucinich but he is the closest thing to Kucinich that can get elected. Edwards is also the most aggressive in re-framing fundamental issues, such as the war on terror and economic issues in a populist direction, as opposed to a Third Way/DLC direction, which uses GOP frames. Another reason for their special dislike of him is that many surely view him as the most electable Democratic candidate. They know the election will be an uphill climb for them under any scenario; Edwards makes it an upmountain climb and will help candidates at every level of the ticket.
