1. Three scenarios might materialize:
1) The Repubs might be throwing the game in '08. They really don't have anyone impressive--Thompson merely highlights their desperation.

2) Third party of Bloomberg to emerge, to sop up all those underwhelmed Repubs who find whichever nominee they scrape up to be unacceptable for some reason.

3) Newt Gingrich and Chuck Hagel are eyeing this poll--might be planning late entry.
