As I have always been attracted to men, and never attracted to women, I told her that I was pretty sure that lesbianism was not my thing and that was a chance I was willing to take.

For some reason your arguement strikes me the same way hers did.

(btw - as a longtime straight but not narrow supporter of GLBT rights I have no concerns about relating this story)
